First day

Monday

Monday morning will feature one hour demos from each instructor followed by painting on Bitter Root Land Trust properties around the valley. The mornings will all start at 8:00 with a continental breakfast as well as a daily box lunch. Each day will end with a no host bar (actually BYOB.) Monday night will have a catered welcome dinner on site. We will also visit Bitterroot Frames, home of the exhibition and sale at the end of the week.

all day painting

Tuesday thru Thursday

Tuesday thru Thursday groups of 6 will go out with each instructor for location painting throughout the Bitterroot Valley for a combination of river and barn painting. We’ll hope for a few fly-fishermen to insert into your paintings with Michele Usibelli. Dinner will be “on your own” in one of dozens of fabulous local restaurants for Tuesday & Wednesday.

Wednesday evening’s no host bar (BYOB) will be a time to select a few paintings to frame for exhibition on Thursday evening. Please plan to bring your own frames or purchase on site. The instructors will help you determine appropriate exhibition pieces. (See below)

Throughout the week, workshop leaders, Anne Brown will be available for mentoring on marketing, painting photography, social media skills, websites, critique checklists, and general artist organization. Painting sites will be organized by the Bitter Root Land Trust - places of historic significance and conservancy.

Exhibit & Critique

Thursday & Friday

Thursday morning we’ll be painting in the field then return to the Fine Art Spaces barn to finalize the framing for the opening Thursday evening of the exhibiton and sale and Bitterroot Frames lovely gallery. The opening will be catered and hung just for the evening. A portion of sales of art will go to the Bitter Root Land Trust.

Friday concludes with final day of painting in the field and then back on the Fine Art Spaces site for lunch, along with instructor critiques. This will be a good one on one time with the instructors on specific questions. The workshop will finish at 3 pm
